Humanity First at College Park’s mission is to enable students to lead and engage in service initiatives from local service events to international project development. We also pursue collaborative approaches in service and fundraising to maximize the impact of student organizations.

 

We aim to have high-impact in our local and global community by creating paths for student leadership, organizing service initiatives/projects, seeking collaborative partnerships, and growing our understanding of the issues that plague the world around us to pursue effective avenues of remediation.  

 

In the past, our local service initiatives have included volunteering at a women’s shelter, an awareness discussion series, organizing food packaging for the local underprivileged, hosting domestic violence awareness events, partnering with others to offer elementary after-school tutoring, and volunteering with a DC homeless shelter.

 

Our past international initiatives have included a medical mission to Guatemala and a service trip to Haiti to donate and conduct a series of educational workshops at a Humanity First elementary school.
